research on vernacular chinese architecture

This is a 2 months long research project on vernacular architecture in southeast China. With site visits to different villages in different climate zones, I interviewed multiple of the "builder" and "craftsmen" , and documented the complex process of traditional architectural elements and how they compose a building. This research and documentation contributes to the traditional craftsmanship and techniques that does not have written document.
